In my days
in churches
I wondered and hoped and worked
towards those little groups
as being “outposts of the kindgdom of God.”
I remember “The Sunburnt Soul”
A series of films by Dr David Millican in 1980
About spirituality in Australia and where the flame might burn.
The one he thought had come close
was a mob called Truth and Liberation Concern.
It came close for me at St Marys – now in Exile – in South Brisbane.
And now ?
Now I think Bill Hauritz has done something
That feels like
An outpost
A reality
A dreaming in real time
Of what humanity
Can become
And can continue to become.
